New Zealand is a developed country. New Zealand’s government spends around 6% of its GDP on education. New Zealand maintains high standard of education both at school and higher studies level. Students can also easily get part-time jobs to mage their expenses while studying. New Zealand graduates easily get jobs at national or international level.

EDUCATION SYSTEM IN NEW - ZEALAND

New Zealand’s education system has three different levels of early childhood education: from birth to school entry age, then primary and secondary education: from 5–19 years of age and last the further education level consisting of higher and vocational education. The high standard of education system helps its higher education institutions to maintain the high level of excellence in literary, mathematics and science fields.

TYPES OF INSTITUTION

The academic year in New Zealand lasts from late February to mid-November. Currently, there are only 8 universities in New Zealand but their standard of education is very high. New Zealand also has a lot of polytechnics for providing vocational education and preparing skilled labour in the country.

ADMISSIONS

Foreign students need to acquire a student visa to study at a New Zealand university. The government provides one year of fees-free study for students new to tertiary education. Qualifications of the standard of NCEA Level 3 or New Zealand year 13 is considered as the minimum academic requirement for most undergraduate courses in the country. IELTS score is also considered for admission in undergraduate courses in New Zealand. Students can file application forms online on a university’s website.
