ML Aggarwal Solutions for Class 7 Maths Chapter 1 Integers

Integers are the set of whole numbers and their opposites. Whole numbers less than zero are called negative integers. The integer zero is neither positive nor negative and has no sign. Two integers are opposites if they are each the same distance away from zero but on opposite sides of the number line. From the above definition of whole numbers and integers, it can be noted that all whole numbers are integers, but not all integers are whole numbers.
From the above definition of whole numbers and integers, it can be noted that all whole numbers are integers, but not all integers are whole numbers. The set of integers includes zero, negative and positive numbers without any decimal or fractional parts. They are numbers that represent whole things without pieces either above (positive) or below (negative) a standard value. They also include zero.
