ML Aggarwal Solutions for Class 8 Maths Chapter 13 Understanding Quadrilaterals

The word ‘quad’ means four, and the word lateral means sides. Thus, a plane figure bounded by four line segments AB, BC, CD and DA is called a quadrilateral and is written as quad ABCD.
A quadrilateral has four sides, four angles, four vertices and two diagonals. Quadrilaterals can be classified into different types based on their sides and angles. In this topic, we shall learn the different types of quadrilaterals and their properties.
Quadrilaterals:-
A closed figure bounded by four straight lines is called a quadrilateral. Quadrilateral has four sides, four angles, four vertices and two diagonals. Sum of the angles of a quadrilateral is 3600.
A quadrilateral refers to a four-sided polygon that has four angles. The seven types of quadrilaterals are parallelogram, rhombus, kite, rectangle, trapezoid, square, and isosceles trapezoid.
