The study of thousand years between 700 - 1750 is massive challenge for the historian because of scale and variety of developments that occurred over the period. The remains of ancient monuments, weapons, utensils, currencies and other such artefacts together with any written records of the period either in papers, scriptures or only by way of symbols and signs made on the walls, helped historians in tracing changes over several years. When historians read documents, maps and texts from the past, they have to be sensitive to the different historical backgrounds–the contexts in which information about the history was produced.
