This chapter has a description of “Fraction and Decimals” and contains a series of examples and questions to help explain the topic in detail. Fractions are numbers that represent a part of the whole. When an object or a group of objects is divided into equal parts, then each component is a fraction. A fraction is usually written as 1/2 or 5/12 or 7/18 and so on. In algebra, a decimal number can be defined as a number whose whole number a decimal point separates part and the fractional part. The dot in a decimal number is called a decimal point. The digits following the decimal point show a value smaller than one.
