The Comet – II” is a continuation of Unit 9, The Comet – I. This unit talks about the difference between rational thinking and superstitious beliefs between scientists and religious leaders. This chapter draws the attention of these two groups of people who react to this critical situation in their respective ways. Comet Dutta was sure to collide with the earth on December 15. Some suggested a defensive action. They indicated that underground bunkers should be constructed for everyone to live in. They intended to give the comet a push to change its course.
