This chapter explains about the Cultivation process of India, Forest rules, Colonial System, deforestation etc. The Britishers believed that the Indian framers were destroying the forests with their agricultural practices. So, to restrict the farmer, the British people made various laws to restrict the use of these forests, but they continued to exploit the forests for their commercial purpose. They wanted to cultivate the forests by themselves and perform scientific forestry.
