RD Sharma Solutions for Class 12 Maths Chapter 8 Solution of Simultaneous Linear Equations

Two linear equations in two variables taken together are called simultaneous linear equations. The solution of system of simultaneous linear equation is the ordered pair (x, y) which satisfies both the linear equations. In simple terms, the solution to a pair of simultaneous equations is the x and y values of the coordinates of the point at which the graphs cross or intersect. Consider two linear equations in two variables, x and y, such as: 2x - 3y = 4, 3x + y = 1. In order to find a solution for this pair of equations, the unknown numbers x and y have to satisfy both equations. Hence, we call this system or pair of equations simultaneous equations.
