RD Sharma Solutions for Class 7 Maths Chapter 4 Rational Numbers

A rational number is a number that can be expressed as a ratio of p/q, where p and q are integers, and q does not equal to zero. The numerator and the denominator of a rational number will be integers. Any fraction with non-zero denominators is a rational number. Hence, we can say that ‘0’ is also a rational number, as we can represent it in many forms such as 0/1, 0/2, 0/3, etc. But, 1/0, 2/0, 3/0, etc. are not rational, since they give us infinite values. We shall study the system of rational numbers. And, also learn a comparison of rational numbers and their representation on the number line. A number of the form p/q, where q not equal to zero defines the rational numbers. It may also be used in our daily lives.
