RD Sharma Solutions for Class 8 Maths Chapter 23 Data Handling – I (Classification and Tabulation of Data)

RD Sharma Solutions for Class 8 Chapter 23 Data Handling-I (Classification and Tabulation of Data) - The process of arranging data into different categories, on the basis of nature, behavior, or common characteristics is called classification. Data classification is based on similar attributes and variables of the observations. Conversely, in tabulation the data is arranged in rows and columns, in a systematic way. We shall see how to present the data and calculate the frequency distribution related to the given data. There are two types of frequency distribution (i) discrete frequency distribution (ii) continuous or grouped frequency distribution. We also learn how to construct a discrete frequency distribution as well as grouped frequency distribution. The word data means information. Collection of observations is the first step in statistical investigations. After the collection of data, the data has to be presented in a tabular form. All these salient features shall be discussed in this Chapter.
