CLAT is a Common Law Admission Test. It is a centralized national-level government entrance test for admission to 22 National Law Universities (NLU) in India.
The examination schedule is listed in the official website of CLAT. Candidates should also note that CLAT exam will be held only once in a year. And, those who appeared in CLAT exam last year are also eligible to appear in the CLAT exam.

The purpose of CLAT is to get admission into undergraduate and postgraduate law programs at consortium of law universities in India.
The validity of CLAT exam scorecard is for one year only.
The Minimum qualification for Under Graduate (UG) candidate is Completion of 12th grade or its equivalent from a recognized board is mandatory for all applicants, regardless of their chosen academic stream. For General, OBC, PWD, NRI, PIO, and OCI categories, a minimum score of 45% is required to apply for the CLAT exam.
The Candidate should have minimum percentage of 50% in LLB or any other equivalent degree from a recognized university.
The minimum age limit to apply for the exam is above 20 years.
The procedure for filling the application form are as follows:
1. Visit CLAT official website- https://consortiumofnlus.ac.in/
then go to the footer section and click on Affiliate Registration option then go to the Affiliate Registration/Login page - https://affiliates.consortiumofnlus.ac.in/, If you don't have account then click on register button below.
2. Enter Name, Mobile Number, Email for OTP verification, Create a new password and confirm password.
3. Then click on Register button,
4. The candidate will receive OTP on email id & mobile number that which needs to be entered at the time of registration.
5. Enter OTP, then Submit.
6. Application form opens
7. Enter Personal Details, contact information, academic details, work experience, program preference, and
exam center preference.
8. Documents upload & Do Online Payment.
No change in the question paper of CLAT PG has been made, and it will be held as per the previous exam pattern i.e. 120 Objective Type Questions based on core law subjects. In 2021, the Consortium had removed the descriptive section from the CLAT LL. M. exam pattern.
The application fee is 4,000 for General/OBC/PWD/NRI/PIO/OCI candidates.
For SC/ST/BPL category candidates, the application fee is 3,500.
Application fees are Non-Refundable & Non-Adjustable.
Candidate can download admit card from the official website of CLAT - https://consortiumofnlus.ac.in.
CLAT admit card will not be sent by post to any candidate. The hall ticket has to be downloaded online from the official website - https://consortiumofnlus.ac.in. Candidates have to login and enter registration ID, password to download the admit card for CLAT Exam.
Candidates are required to wear clothes with half sleeves attire.
The whole counselling process for CLAT is conducted in online mode. Candidates have to register online to participate in the counselling. Eligible candidates who qualify the exam can register on the official website - https://consortiumofnlus.ac.in for the counselling. After that, they have to pay fee to complete the registration process.
The CLAT will be tentatively 30,000 for General/OBC category and 20,000 for SC/ST/OBC/BC/EWS/PWD categories. The CLAT counselling fee can only be paid in online mode on the official website - https://consortiumofnlus.ac.in.
Minimum percentage required for CLAT- UG exam is 45% for General/OBC/PWD/NRI/PIO/OCI categories and 40% for SC/ST categories.
Minimum percentage required for CLAT- PG exam is 50% for General/OBC/PWD/NRI/PIO/OCI categories and 45% for SC/ST categories.
Negative marking is 0.25 for each incorrect answer.
The Total number of question asked is 120 in CLAT-UG exam.
The duration of CLAT exam is 2 hours in which candidate have to solve 120 MCQ's & each correct answer is awarded 1 mark whereas each incorrect answer has deduction of 0.25 marks.
