CLAT is a Common Law Admission Test. It is a centralized national-level government entrance test for admission to 22 National Law Universities (NLU) in India.

The Minimum qualification for Under Graduate (UG) candidate is Completion of 12th grade or its equivalent from a recognized board is mandatory for all applicants, regardless of their chosen academic stream. For General, OBC, PWD, NRI, PIO, and OCI categories, a minimum score of 45% is required to apply for the CLAT exam.

What is the educational qualification required for Post Graduate (PG) candidate to appear in the CLAT exam?

The Candidate should have minimum percentage of 50% in LLB or any other equivalent degree from a recognized university.

What is the age criteria to appear in the CLAT exam?

The minimum age limit to apply for the exam is above 20 years.

What is the procedure of filling the application form?

The procedure for filling the application form are as follows:
1. Visit CLAT official website- then go to the footer section and click on Affiliate Registration option then go to the Affiliate Registration/Login page -, If you don't have account then click on register button below.
2. Enter Name, Mobile Number, Email for OTP verification, Create a new password and confirm password.
3. Then click on Register button,
4. The candidate will receive OTP on email id & mobile number that which needs to be entered at the time of registration.
5. Enter OTP, then Submit.
6. Application form opens
7. Enter Personal Details, contact information, academic details, work experience, program preference, and exam center preference.
8. Documents upload & Do Online Payment.

Will CLAT exam has descriptive questions?

No change in the question paper of CLAT PG has been made, and it will be held as per the previous exam pattern i.e. 120 Objective Type Questions based on core law subjects. In 2021, the Consortium had removed the descriptive section from the CLAT LL. M. exam pattern.

What is the application fees for General/OBC/PWD/NRI/PIO/OCI candidates ?

The application fee is 4,000 for General/OBC/PWD/NRI/PIO/OCI candidates.

What is the application fees for SC/ST/BPL candidates?

For SC/ST/BPL category candidates, the application fee is 3,500.

How to download CLAT admit card?

CLAT admit card will not be sent by post to any candidate. The hall ticket has to be downloaded online from the official website - Candidates have to login and enter registration ID, password to download the admit card for CLAT Exam.

Is there any dress code for the CLAT exam?

Candidates are required to wear clothes with half sleeves attire.

How is the CLAT exam selection process done?

The whole counselling process for CLAT is conducted in online mode. Candidates have to register online to participate in the counselling. Eligible candidates who qualify the exam can register on the official website - for the counselling. After that, they have to pay fee to complete the registration process.
